In the Crosshairs: Biden Methane Push Targets Oil and Gas
The Biden administration recently released two new regulatory initiatives as part of its broader agenda to reduce methane emissions from the oil and gas industry. The first initiative was a final rule from the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) establishing safety standards and reporting requirements for onshore gas gathering lines. The second initiative was a proposed rule from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) containing stricter emissions standards for the oil and gas sector. During this session, two former PHMSA and EPA attorneys will discuss what these initiatives could mean for the oil and gas industry.
